Anyway, this fuzzy little guy is called William Bensusan, aka The Gaslmap Killer. I'm not sure if you are aware, but dude has been killing hard beats for years now and he deserves your big ups. Plus he's my homie, therefor, he gets the song of the day today.
Today's Song of the Day is Wonderful Offer by Lora Logic. If you aren't familiar with Lora Logic, she was a member of the groundbreaking English bands X-Ray Spex and Essential Logic. This song was released as the first solo Lora Logic single, but it can now be found on the Essential Logic double disc retrospective Fanfare in the Garden from Kill Rock Stars. Thanks to KRS for this wonderful release, which I stumbled upon as an unwanted promo copy when I worked at Music Trader in 2003. This song was actually not one of my favorites when I first started listening to the album, but in the years since, it has grown on me. It just doesn't get old, so take a listen if you haven't already.
San Diego's best return to the Bay Area for a couple shows, and this is the one you should go to. The Prayers, The Muslims, and The Sess along with vinyl waxes by our friend Mario Orduno. Go! Go! Don't make me say it again, please.

There comes a time when every family must part with their beloved Christmas Tree, as was the case this past Sunday evening when we decided it was time to pack up the ornaments and drop the tree off on the curb for its final farewell. However being the funny guy that I am, I decided it would be a hoot to put the tree in the middle of Valencia street so I could watch cars drive by and marvel at this naked Christmas tree growing out of the asphalt. Sure enough it made us all laugh and even stopped a few cars along the way. Of course nothing could keep us away from our game of Tetris for too long so we quickly got back into it and left the tree alone to enjoy more of the city's onlookers.
No more then 15 minutes had past when I heard Dimitri shout "oh shit!" as he threw down the controller and rushed to the window. An orange glow had suddenly filled up the room as the once happy tree was now blazing with flames at least 12 feet high. Apparently some prankster had to one up me and decided to set the tree on fire in the middle of the gall dang street! Man, was it amazing. We all laughed and cheered as the flames burned higher and higher. I even got a little scared and thought it was going to set the whole apartment on fire. Fortunately I had the oracle to capture it all on digital film and we all survived this year's Christmas miracle!
The band is Nuit Noire from France. This is a two man band which in years past, had played strictly weirdo black metal. They are definitely branching out with this new album entitled Fantomatic Plentitude. The instrumentation remains pretty grim and lightning fast a lot of the time, but it also ventures into weird angular no-wave riffage and punk attitude with vocals from their singer Tenebras that are a close match for Olga of the Toy Dolls. Think that sounds weird? How about the song titles. I Love You? I am a Fairy? Yeah. These dudes are wonderfully odd. Please enjoy. There are actually two songs for you to download here. Lucky you.

So, from now on I will be adding a "song of the day" for you all to download and listen to. On second thought, I doubt I'll do it every day, but such is life. I'll do it as often as possible. I have been thinking about doing this for a little while and I guess there is no time like the present, so here goes.

Hi. It's Christmas Eve today, and last night my roommate and I hosted a Christmas movie marathon at our house with a bunch of friends. It was a lot of good, clean fun. We had dinner and dessert and movies and.... two piñatas. Yes, the traditional Christmas Piñata. It's been passed down for generations.
One of the movies we watched was Scrooged. I totally forgot how amazing Bill Murray was in that movie. It really made me happy it was Christmas, as corny as that may sound. Who cares, right? Anyway, if you have not watched it in a while, you should. Here is the part where good old Frank has his break through and get's unScroogy. Maybe it'll help you get unScroogy too.

The interviewer asks Mr. Wizzle and Omarion some disrespectful questions that are not that funny, and our lil' pup throws a fit, talking all kinds of shit to dude... but not until he is safely behind his huge body guards.
